I've been thinking about making a “red” painting for years. Tried a few times. All red (the secret is to have a little bit that is not red). The origins of this painting are with an early memory. My mother made a red velvet jacket for me when I was about 4 years old. It was so soft and so completely, utterly, beautifully RED. I felt like I could fall into that color and live there forever. This painting is my interpretation of that world.
