That Indescribable Thing

This painting began as a commission, then with the pandemic I lost contact with my customer and the painting took on a life of its own. With scratchy, scribbly marks and brushstrokes, contrasting colors and dark against light, it has a more raw feeling, which may reflect my feelings during the Covid crisis. There are some bright spots but many layers of emotion and turmoil.
